Albufera rice is a cross between Bomba and Senia varieties. The result of this crossing is a variety of round grain rice, which absorbs flavors very well and supports cooking very well. It's a rice with D.O. Rice of Valencia.
Under the name "Senia type" in the D.O Arroz de Valencia we include a series of varieties that have been obtained from the Senia and Bahia parents. They have very similar organoleptic characteristics: They are grains that absorb the flavor extraordinarily well, they have a very creamy texture and once cooked they are very juicy.
